dying to live.

'the enemy will attack you in your mind'

there will always be someone or something in your life that will make you doubt--doubt God's voice, His plan, His work in you. last night at church, john read to us matthew 10:37, so this morning i read matthew 10.

v.34-39:
"Don't imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword. I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law agains her mother-in-law. your enemies will be right in your own household!

if you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. if you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. if you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it."

everyone takes something different from this passage. we all have different things in our lives that we have to die to, in order to live in Christ and live for Him. for me, it's my family. it's what they think, what they say, their 'baggage,' that causes me to doubt and question. yet i continue to let them. every day i battle and have to die to myself in this struggle. in what way are you loving yourself more than you're loving Jesus?
